Well, first of all, get Vent and TS. (www.ventrilo.com; www.goteamspeak.com). They are voice chat programs which will allow you to hear why strategies work, and what tactics to use. (Note: This is for Tombs mostly, but maybe for TA as well)

Second, start with a basic cookie cutter build. Learn how it works, and practice in CA. Once you know how it works, try to find a Tombs team that's running with your build. A good cookie cutter build would be an IWAY warrior (not that powerful against experienced groups, but easy to play and can be devastating).

Or you could try an air spiker. They're only good in highly organized voice chat groups, and good ones are micromanaged by the group leader, so you don't really need that much skill. Unfortunately, the air spike build isn't run as much any more, so you may have trouble finding teams.

Otherwise, you could just try playing a damage dealing warrior. A Knockdown/Aftershock warrior is usually in high demand for Smiting builds, or an 'Evicerate' Axe Spiker is a good, solid damage dealer.

To find any of the specific character builds, do a forum search. For the team builds, just try to find a group in tombs that is running the build, preferrably with voice communication. If you found a good build online, then you should be able to figure out your part in the strategy fairly quickly.

Many people get discouraged in Tombs because they are impatient when group-hunting, so they always wind up in groups that are doomed to fail. Take the time to find a group with a strategy, and then try to learn what they're doing, and why it works.

I realize I'm rambling, but I hope I was some-what helpful. Good luck!

I'm tired. Where/what is CA and how can you get there again?

Team cooperation and build is what tombs is about. Knowing what to do, how to do it, when to do it, and how to mix it in with others are just a few important things.

Ele/me - Me/N: Spike/Nuke/Smite Groups
W/R - I guess an IWAY if you really wanted too.

Remember that for each build, skill, etc, there is a way to counter it. So don't always expect to win. Just keep working at it.

CA = Competitive Arena... most ppl call it RA, though, I think.

Elektra, I don't know what you want me to say, then. You will NOT do well in Tombs without adaptive tactics. You don't need a mic (many people just listen), but if you want to WIN in Tombs, you NEED voice com. Period. Look at ALL the guild of the weeks. As far as I can remember, every single one mentions voice com as one of the keys to their success.

If you're happy just dicking around in CA and TA, then you don't need complex strategies simply because most other groups don't bother. Try this build if you just want to have some fun:

Axe spiker
evicerate, axe rake, penetrating, executioners, sprint, res sig, disrupting chop, and frenzy/tiger's fury. Idea is build up adrenaline, then hit your IAS skill, then drop all your spike skills in order. Hit sprint when they run, and finish them off. Hope it works for you.

Yah really, no one said here that you need TS. Just get to know what to do. Be flexible and versatile.
